EMPOWERING
John 14:6 (ESV)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Empowered to Witness
Witnessing should be a natural part of the Christian life—this is what God has called each of us to do. Sharing what God has done in your life and in the lives of others is a source of great joy. True witnessing also involves listening. Just as Jesus listens with care and compassion, we too should show genuine interest in others. This is what it means to be an Empowered Witness.
Matthew 28:16–20 (ESV)
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Empowered to Worship
Worship isn’t just something you do, and it’s not a place you go—worship is who you are in Christ. You were created to worship Him. The empowered worshipper lives a life of worship freely and without fear. Our desire is to help others discover worship as God intended it to be.
John 4:23 (ESV)
23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

Empowered Families
Family life today faces unprecedented stresses—fear, doubt, confusion, fruitlessness, and aimlessness. These struggles aren’t inevitable; they often come from not living according to God’s Word and letting biblical truths guide our steps. At Calvary Baptist Church, our goal is to help families live empowered by the Holy Spirit. An empowered family is a praying family—one that encourages one another and applies practical biblical truths to everyday life.
Empowered to Serve
Jesus came to serve, not to be served (Mark 10:45). At our church, serving others is at the heart of everything we do. We encourage every member to get involved—whether it’s supporting children and staff in our local schools or feeding hungry children in Kentucky. We invite everyone to participate because serving others is what God has called us to do.
Galatians 5:13 (ESV)
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Empowered to Give
God calls us to give toward the work of His Kingdom—it’s not optional. Jesus spoke about money more than almost any other topic, not because He valued wealth—He lived and died poor by worldly standards—but because how we earn, spend, save, invest, and give reveals our true priorities and passions. As He said, ‘For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also’ (Matthew 6:21, ESV).
Supporting the ministry and missions of the church requires resources. While the Gospel is free, sharing it with others involves buildings, staff, curriculum, events, utilities, and more. Your giving matters—both to God and to the work He’s doing through our church.
